Our Sixteenth Session (4 March 2015)

Last Wednesday:

1- We sang this song by Abba: "Money, money, money". We also filled in the gaps and underlined some vocabulary related to "wealth". Examples: work, pay, bills, penny, wealthy, rich, fortune and win.

2- We answered these questions:

a) Underline the conditional sentences you find in this song.
b) Underline the modal verbs you find. What's the difference between "must" and "have to"?
c) Find the word "must" expressing certainty.

3- We explained "modals of obligation and prohibition" (have to, must and should-recommendation) and "zero and first conditional with if/when/unless/as soon as".

4- We did exercises 1, 2 and 3 on page 49.

5- We corrected exercise 4 on page 51 and played a fun game with some "crazy hands" on our whiteboard. We recapped on those phrasal verbs: pick up, make up, end up, etc. Women won, well done, girls!!

6- We listened to a real EOI listening.

7- We played a game using some modals of obligation and prohibition. We had to fill in these recommendations:

How to be fit + how to be rich + how to be a good friend

-You must / you don't have to / you shouldn't / you mustn't / you should / you have to

Paqui and Lucía were the winners, CONGRATULATIONS!

8- We discovered that ATTITUDE is the best word in English, 100% guaranteed ;).
